Democrats are cutting funding to the war

Democrats have finally figured out the way to cut funding for the war without saying they're cutting funding for the war. It took them a couple months, but they've got their plan. They're going to attach measures to military funding bills that they know full well that the president won't sign, not only because it's unconstitutional (Congress has no power to command our troops) but also because it will lead directly to defeat. It's a surprisingly brilliant play; and combined with the liberal media literally eating up every word that Pelosi says, it's very likely the plan to cut funding will play to the Democrats' favor.

The Democrats have an amendment to a military spending bill that will force our military to begin a six-month withdrawal on July 1 unless the President certifies to Congress that progress is being done in Iraq. And I'm sure Congress would probably have to approve whether the progress is actually being done, but there's a good chance they will THIS time. However, just in time for elections, the military would again be forced to withdraw in six months beginning on October 1 unless again the President pleads to Congress to let our troops remain. And even if everything works out for the better, the military will still be forced to retreat in 4 months beginning March 31, 2008, regardless of what's being done at that time, and regardless of whether a withdrawal will destroy Iraq. Of course, the President will not accept these terms, so he will veto this bill, which plays directly into the hands of the Democrats.

This now brings me to my statement above. The Democrats have made a win-win situation for themselves while at the same time discrediting the Republicans, destroying our efforts in Iraq, bringing credibility to the anti-war protesters (including Cindy Sheehan), and finalizing the analogy of Iraq being Vietnam. What makes it worse, the media doesn't see it that way. The media would probably even IGNORE people who expose the truth of the matter! The Democrats KNOW that they'll be cutting funding, but the Democrats also know that the media will help spin it so that the President is the bad guy here. Congratulations, you have done your work well in destroying this country. You'll be the victors in this evil Bush war. Your plans for dominating the government will be complete. I wouldn't even be surprised if you add more seats to the Supreme Court under the guise of reducing strain on the judges just so you can put crazy socialist judges on the bench to continue your policy of legislation from the bench so loved by Clinton. And, best of all, you'll get a fall guy if there was another terrorist attack: obviously, it's Bush's fault for not properly defending us against terrorists, so let's throw him in jail.
