Environmentalists in Hollywood

I had the distinct displeasure of enduring a segment on GMA about how much Hollywood actors are "living green." It's a bunch of fluff about how they're trying to protect the environment and stuff like that. That's all well and good. If they want to spend the money to be ecologically correct, that's fine. It's their money, I'm going to keep my SUV because I can FIT in it.

What annoyed me is Edward Norton saying, "I think clearly the state of our environmental instability is the defining issue for our generation." Obviously, the threat of global terrorism is not important. Obviously, we should be more concerned about our environment than our national security. We don't need a free country, we need a clean world.

What pisses me off the most is that because Hollywood is saying it, obviously it is true and should be done. Edward Norton is supposedly a click-flick superstar, and with Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio along for the ride, you can bet that half of the women in this country are going to simply flip out over the environmentalist fad. After all, if the hunks of Hollywood think it's cool to have a hybrid, they should spend the extra few thousand dollars to have it too. If the hunks of Hollywood think that the environment is more important than our troops, then surely all the money going to support them right now is better spent making the government buy solar panels for every house in the country, because it's more important.
